In the Fall of 2014 we bought a cottage at Silver Lake and so decided to postpone our trip to Maine. One of Mark's dreams has always been to own a cottage on Silver Lake. He spent a lot of time there when he was growing up and he loves the lake and the sand dunes. It was always something we were going to do "some day". Our daughter-in-law, Heidi, finally asked in August of that year, "What are you waiting for??" Good question! We decided it was time to make that dream a reality and by October we had found and closed on the perfect place for us. It has two bedrooms plus a large loft area, so there is room for our kids and 9 grandkids to come and stay all at the same time. It's part of an association of cottages with many amenities including a clubhouse, pool, shuffle board, basketball and tennis courts, and best of all . . . 400 feet of lake frontage with a swimming area and boat docks. So there is plenty to do to keep the grandkids happy!
The previous owners didn't move out until December, so our first overnight stay was during the winter. The following summer we sold our house in Spring Lake and moved into the cottage while we looked for a condo to buy in Grand Rapids.

In the Fall of 2015 we found the perfect condo in Cutlerville halfway between Nathan & Heidi in Byron Center and Dave & Deedre in Kentwood. We love our neighborhood and we found a wonderful new church where we are making new friends!

Since we postponed our Fall trip to Maine for two years while we were re-locating, we are hoping to get there this year. Mark wants to get the truck camper back on the road . . . :)
