Precious Grandkids

I need to practice blogging again on the ipad before we head out on our Fall trip this year, so I thought I would do an update on our grandkids. We have been blessed with seven so far, although number 7 is currently five days overdue and anxiously anticipated.

The new little one will make five for Nathan and Heidi, and Dave and Deedre have two.

Our sweet Emilia is the oldest and turned 9 in June. She loves reading, drawing/coloring, and imaginative play. She's very creative and thoughtful, and enjoys baking. She is Mom's helper and really looking forward to having a new baby sister. She doesn't even mind that she'll have to share her room:)

Big sister, Emilia, with little brother, Tommy

Jonny is seven. He's the "big brother" and pretty handy to have around when Gramma needs a helping hand. He likes to keep busy, enjoys sports and physical activity, and runs like the wind. Although he's all boy, he has his tender side, too, and has a special way with babies and young children.

Matthew is five and will be a kindergartner this year although he is already learning to read and doing great with math, too. He knows how to read a thermometer and could tell the temperature of the pool water was 89 degrees! He loves to wrestle with Papa and his brothers, and snuggle with Gramma on the couch while we read a stack of picture books. He's an engaging child and a people person, but also able to entertain himself.

Tommy is our spunky three year old. He is the "little brother" but he can hold his own with the big kids! There's never a dull moment when he is around, and if he's not around you better go check and see what he's up to! He's very coordinated and great at throwing and kicking a ball. He loves race cars, monster trucks, super heroes and bad guys:)

There are only 15 months between Jade and her baby brother, Deacon. Jade will be two in November and Deacon was born this past March. Gramma gets to spend every Monday loving on these two precious little ones:) Even though I see them every week, each time I go they seem to have grown and learned something new. Children change so quickly when they are small. It's such a joy to watch them grow! Jade is lots of fun. She's curious and independent and loves to play hide and seek. Deacon is a good baby, full of smiles and already rolling himself from one side of the room to the other!

We are so VERY BLESSED to be part of the lives of our grandchildren, and so pleased that they have such wonderful parents:)

We've been expecting the phone to ring anytime now with a call to come pick up the oldest four because the newest one has decided to make her debut. Can't wait to meet her!

  1. Wish I could say that I'm headed to the hospital...but I'm not. Waking up to another morning with no sign of baby coming. However, this was a very sweet blog post to read. Such precious kids! They're blessed to have such good grandparents!!!
