Kodachrome Basin State Park

In the morning (10/4) we left the campground at Posey Lake and drove to Kodachrome Basin State Park.  We were able to get the last available campsite at Basin Campground and were thrilled because it was a great spot.  We decided to reserve it for two nights.  We were right next to a grassy area where several bunnies could be found throughout the day munching on the grass.  At one point Mark saw 12 bunnies there.

It was a beautiful, warm, sunny day and the ranger recommended two of his favorite hiking trails to us.  The Shakespeare Arch trail is a moderate/strenuous 1.7 mile loop.  It was an easy hike 0.5 miles to the arch but then had lots of ups and downs after that.  We did that hike first and then went back to the campsite to hang out for a few hours.

In the late afternoon we hiked the Angel's Palace Trail, an easy/moderate 1.5 mile trail with lots of interesting views.

Tomorrow we plan to head to Bryce Canyon National Park for the day.
