No rain today (September 20th), just overcast and foggy. We decided to go to the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens in Boothbay, and we're so glad we did! We spent about an hour on a wonderful guided tour and an additional two hours exploring on our own. The gardens were beautiful and varied. The colors, textures, fragrances . . . everything was lovely and so thoughtfully laid out. The Children's Garden was especially delightful . . . whimsical, colorful, fun, and educational, too. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Here are just a few of the many pictures I took!

There were several different types of frogs in the ponds. |

The Gardens include a wooded area by the river. |
We also did some window shopping in Boothbay Harbor . . .

. . . Then drove out to Ocean Point with it's summer homes and rocky coastline, but the fog prevented us from seeing the lighthouse.

At a Rest Area near Newcastle we met a woman who was traveling alone pulling a tiny tear-drop trailer behind her vehicle. She shared with me that she was doing a "test run" for a couple of weeks with the trailer. Then her plan is to go home and make the final preparations before embarking on a journey to 48 states, and maybe Alaska, too. WOW. I can't imagine setting off all by myself to travel the country. (You go girl!) I shared some travel apps with her and gave her our phone number. I hope she contacts us when she gets to Michigan. I'd love to hear about her adventures. She hopes to start blogging but said she needs her children to help her figure that out first. I told her the blogging app we're using, so maybe that will help her get started. May God bless her and give her safe travels!
