Today (May 13th) we spent 7 hours exploring the Creation Museum in Petersburg, Kentucky and found it fascinating and educational. Since we were there on a Monday, we avoided the weekend crowds and were able to enjoy the exhibits at our leisure. We started our visit in the 4D Special Effects Theatre with a dynamic visual presentation of the 6 days of creation.
The museum exhibits were not only interesting, but informative and thought-provoking as well.
The main exhibit area took us on a walk through history from beginning to end — explaining the seven C’s — Creation, Corruption, Catastrophe, Confusion, Christ, Cross, and Consummation.
Throughout the museum there is a clear comparison and explanation of the World’s view vs the Biblical view. Not only are the faulty premises of evolution refuted and the scientific evidence that supports the scriptural account of creation in Genesis revealed, but God ‘s plan for mankind and salvation in Christ is clearly presented.
We spent a very informative hour with Dr Georgia Purdom who did a presentation on Creationism vs Evolution. Mark reluctantly joined me thinking he would be bored, but the hour flew by and ended up being his favorite part of the day.
We both enjoyed our lunch at the Palm Cafe in the museum. Our food was very good and reasonably priced.
We spent the afternoon strolling through the botanical gardens (although the weather was quite chilly), and checking out some smaller exhibits (the Insectorium with its colorful bug displays was fascinating:) We also visited the animals in the small petting zoo and caught one of the shows in the planetarium.
I’ve been wanting to visit the Creation Museum since it was first built, and I was not disappointed! We only took a few pictures while we were there . . .
