We love traveling with our truck camper. It’s like carrying a small house along with you wherever you go π’.
We woke to a cool but sunny Saturday morning (12th), and got up early to explore the park. Since it was a Saturday the park was really busy. We hiked the Old Man’s Cave Trail which was a great place to start early before it got too crowded. It was a beautiful wooded trail with waterfalls, rocks and bridges over running water. Lovely.
Devil’s Bathtub
After a brief rest and lunch in the camper we hiked to Cedar Falls . . .
And Ash Cave . . .
And then did the hike to Rockhouse which is a tunnel-like cave situated midway up a 150-foot cliff with “windows” looking out over the forest.
I’m not sure what I did to my left leg, but I was having some problems putting weight on it during the last couple of hikes, so it was slower going as I limped along, but totally worth it.
We went to sleep with a steady rain on the roof all night. So glad we got to enjoy the trails on a beautiful day! They will be a muddy mess after all that rain!
Heading toward Cinncinati today because we’re going to the Creation Museum tomorrow. π
